In Harthill there is a large play area situated on Spens Field. It is located alongside Harthill Leisure Centre on Woodall Lane in Harthill. There is a large car park adjacent to the play area with free parking.

There is a new Tots area that opened in January 2023. This was made possible by a large donation of funding from Veolia Environmental Trust as well as support from Ward Councillors. This area is especially designed for children aged 2 to 5 years.

There are areas for older children, swings, slides and multi-play equipment as well as a teen/gym area.

In May we are expecting installation of a large 30 metre Zip-Wire to enhance the play offering for older children.

Harthill with Woodall Parish Council is currently working with play companies to form a 3 to 5 year plan to make further improvements to the play area. Council will be seeking grant money but will also be utilising monies from the Community Infrastructure Levy that the Parish Council will receive from new housing.

The play area is managed by Harthill with Woodall Parish Council. As a council we take pride in ensuring that the play area is well maintained. If you notice any issues, please report them to our clerk, Caroline Havenhand.

In addition to this area there are also Football nets at Doctor Lane recreational ground.
